Our Story

It begins with NASA

Revolute’s story began 8 years ago with our co-founder’s work on hybrid aerial/terrestrial robots for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This work inspired him to dedicate his Ph.D. to determining the ideal hybrid system for exploring extreme environments. After receiving funding for a proof-of-concept, a team was assembled to develop our first few prototypes and submit our first patent.

Entering the Commercial Drone space

Soon after, our second co-founder joined the team, bringing with him the knowledge and resources from nearly a decade-long career in the commercial drone industry, and the pair founded Revolute Robotics to bring this revolutionary technology to the world.
Why We Exist

We are a mix of drone industry veterans and robotics engineers who combine knowledge of the industry’s needs with experience in building the solution. Our team has steadily grown, our focus has narrowed, and our robots have become increasingly capable. We are developing our first product for the inspection of hard-to-reach spaces in industrial environments. As a dual-use company, we are concurrently laying the foundation for a long-lasting existence as a defense contractor.

Where We’re Going

We will continue to revolutionize the robotics industry by taking robots to previously inaccessible environments. We will use our expertise to create and new applications for mobile robotics based on the needs of our customers and the industry, with a gradually broadening approach in the inspection, construction, security, public safety, and defense industries.
